I like to play somewhat small (buy-in $3 - $22) online poker tournaments, mostly Texas Hold'em. I also occasionally play small Pot Limit Omaha cash games. I'd say I'm winning player on a small Finnish poker site I play but not on PokerStars which I think is the biggest poker site. Though I haven't had the proper bankroll for playing a lot of tournaments there.
I wonder what nootropics might benefit me for poker sessions. Currently I often take half a serving of my pre-workout + some added theanine before poker gaming. Usually it's 200 mg caffeine, 400 mg theanine and 400 mg ALCAR + some other ingredients in the PWO product (but those three are the main active ingredients). These I find provide calm mental energy that keep me sharp. I also usually chew 2 mg Nicotine gum for improved focus while playing and I think it also makes me a bit tougher mentally.
It's important to remain calm and sharp when playing poker, especially in the tougher situations and when facing bad luck. I'm thinking Gotu Kola could also be helpful here to keep mood stable and prevent "tilt". You also have to take notice how other players play their hands so perhaps some kind of memory boost could be beneficial, maybe Huperzine A?
Feel free to suggest nootropics that you find beneficial, or could see being beneficial, for poker, or similar games.
