hey guys I'm new to nootropics but have done my part of research into it, my focus with them is to build a foundation for better memory, focus, energy, clear-mindedness, health and the like. I have built a stack that I will buy and implement one by one in the following months. I would appreciate hearing your experiences on any of them, if the combination of all of them will go well or are there stuff I need to watch out for, as well as get recommendations for similar type nootropics.

my (to be) nootropic stack:

  1. Magnisium l-thrionite

  2. shilajit.

  3. L-theanine

  4. Huperzine A

  5. Alpha gpc

  6. Pterostilbene

  7. Sulbutiamine

  8. Vinpocetine

  9. Phosphatidyl serine

  10. Bacopa monnieri.

  11. Royal jelly

  12. PQQ

  13. Uridine

  14. Fish oil

  15. Maca

adamg changed the title to experienced nootropicers unite! (to help :) .

"Nootropicer" hehe, a nice new word!

Good stuff in the stack. However I would watch out combining too many cholinergics. Huperzine A is pretty strong acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, Alpha-gpc is a precursor to choline and I think Bacopa is also AChEI. It may not be too much cholinergic boost but I wouldn't stack them all immediately before you see how you react to one of them. Some get brain fog and depression symptoms from cholinergics.

Magnesium l-threonate and L-theanine are good choices, they should go fine with any stack to promote calm and neuroprotection.

Sulbutiamine in my personal experience is a bit wierd vitamin derivate. It promoted calmness but caused panic symptoms at the same time. If you want to take it, try it alone and in low doses first.

Shilajit and Maca are both good adaptogenic herbs, haven't had issues with them in my own stacks.

Rest of the stuff seem like mostly health promoting supplements that should be fine. Except I haven't heard of Pterostilbene before, what does it do?

Pterostilbene : found in berries. - Neurogenesis - Neuroplasticity - memory - Dopamine - Memory - Mood - Dopamine - Improves cognition - Reduces anxiety - Neuroprotectant

Thanks for the reply, could you please expand on that: "Huperzine A is pretty strong acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, Alpha-gpc is a precursor to choline and I think Bacopa is also AChEI. It may not be too much cholinergic boost but I wouldn't stack them all immediately before you see how you react to one of them. Hmm I would perhaps leave either Huperzine A or Bacopa out, personally I like Huperzine A's effects so my choice would be to take Bacopa out. You could of course cycle them, but note that it often takes several weeks for Bacopa to have the benefits on memory etc. Alpha-gpc should be less problematic since it's just a precursor.

My supplement / nootropic stack usually consists of:

    • At least one adaptogen - I've mostly used Ashwagandha and Panax Ginseng
    • Caffeine - sometimes paired with L-theanine
    • Creatine - shows benefits not only for muscle building / strength but also the brain
    • Vitamin D - especially on the winter
    • L-tyrosine - precursor to catecholamines, helps energy
    • Acetyl-L-Carnitine
    • Greens powder

Nothing special there, it's pretty much the basis of my stack, but I do experiment with other stuff at times.

Galaxyshock thanks for the suggestions, will look into them and will research more regarding huper and becopa to understand their effects for me needs, heard good things for both, cheers!

No problem, good luck on your nootropic journey, I hope you find things that work for you!

I also hope you stay on these forums and post every once in a while, it's been pretty quiet here 🙂
